PRESTATYN Town have received a boost with the news that Danny Davies has signed a contract extension.

The talented youngster has penned a new deal until the end of the 2019/20 campaign, with manager Neil Gibson already moulding his squad with a view to mounting a JD Welsh Premier League promotion challenge next term.

The 23-year-old has been one of the Seasiders’ standout performers this season, turning in a series of exceptional displays, and he has also proved his versatility in a number of different positions to further reflect his overall influence on the squad.

Gibson, said: "I'm absolutely thrilled that Danny has extended his stay at Prestatyn. His performances have been excellent since returning to the club this season.

“He's proved he's capable of being a top player at Cymru Alliance level, and I firmly believe he has all the attributes to be a Welsh Premier League player - something he can hopefully achieve with Prestatyn Town in the not too distant future.

"He's a Prestatyn lad who's played for the club from academy level all the way up to the first team, so he's exactly the sort of player we will build our success around in the future. At 23 years of age, I'm excited to continue working with Danny and help him fulfil his undoubted potential."

Davies stated he was “absolutely made up” to sing an extension with the club, adding: “It is clearly going in the right direction and there are exciting times ahead.

“It was never going to be a tough decision to stay with my hometown club, and the club I've always supported."

Town concluded what has been a hugely eventful first season back in the second tier at Flint Town United on Saturday (2.30pm).
