LLANNERCHYMEDD kept their hopes of a top three Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two finish alive with a 2-1 win at Meliden.

The away side wasted no time in gaining a foothold in the contest against the Miners, and they went ahead on ten minutes when Gavin Sharpe extended his excellent recent run of form with a well-taken finish.

Both sides spurned good opportunities throughout the remainder of the first period, but it was the visitors who extended their advantage after the break when Rob Jones pounced on some hesitant defending to fire in a second on 77 minutes.

A nervy ending to the game was assured when Dylan Ford notched what turned out to be the hosts only goal of the encounter on 88 minutes, but it proved to be too little, too late as they could not find an equaliser in the dying moments in their final home fixture.

Pentraeth were unable to cause a stir at the summit as a Conor Davies strike condemned them to a 1-0 loss at table-toppers Glan Conwy, with Holyhead Town dealt their heaviest defeat of the campaign after they were thrashed 13-0 at Llannefydd.

Goals from Gruff John, Ifan Emyr and Rhys Parry (2) gave Y Felinheli a comfortable cushion at home to Kinmel Bay, but a Kie Ellis hat-trick in the space of 21 minutes meant they had to be content with a point after a thrilling 4-4 draw.
