LLANDUDNO Albion remain four points clear at the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One summit thanks to a 3-0 home win over Nantlle Vale.

Darren Jones’ side have been on a sensational run of form during the second half of the season and extended their unbeaten start to 2019 in convincing fashion, but their hopes of eventually emerging with the championship look bleak thanks to victories from title rivals Bodedern Athletic and Llangefni Town.

The home side worked hard without creating anything of note in the opening exchanges, but they did manage to get their noses in front midway through the half when Dave Maddock continued his exceptional recent run of form in front of goal with another well-taken effort on 22 minutes.

Vale were making things very difficult for the promotion hopefuls and spurned some good opportunities following the setback, and they were made to pay for their lack of conviction after the break when an unfortunate own goal on the hour mark doubled Albion’s advantage.

This seemed to visibly deflate the visitors, who fell further behind on 65 minutes when an impressive spell of possession presented a chance to Adam Hold, who made no mistake with the finish to round off the scoring.

The result leaves Jones’ men four ahead of Bodedern having played five more games, with Cefni six points back with six games in hand.

There was no such for Llanrwst United, who fell to a narrow 3-2 reverse at improving Mynydd Llandegai.

Callum Parry got the Rwsters’ off to a flyer on 25 minutes, but three goals in the space of seven minutes either side of half-time from Craig Wheeler, Dylan Williams and Carwyn Roberts condemned them to defeat.
