A RHYL and District junior side produced a sensational effort to emerge with some silverware from a prestigious competition.

The Dragons’ U14 side travelled to Rhos Rugby Club on Sunday, March 24, where they took on COBRA in the RGC North East boys’ final.

The showcase produced some fantastic attacking rugby from both sides, with plenty of eye-catching tries leaving the score extremely close heading into the closing stages.

In a dramatic finish to the contest, the young Rhyl and District squad dug deep in the closing stages to eventually emerge victorious by the narrowest of margins, achieving a thrilling 35-34 triumph.

This is the first trophy that any Dragons’ team across all ages have achieved since their high-profile move to their impressive new facility at Ty Newydd Fields.
