AN EXCITING new era began for Rhyl and District Rugby Club with the first training session for female members.

A large number of aspiring women rugby players braved the cold conditions for their opening training session on Monday, March 4, with the sessions running throughout the spring and summer to establish consistent members with the possibility of forming a team in the near future.

The sessions will take place at the club’s outstanding new facility at Ty Newydd Fields every Monday from 7pm.

A post on the club’s Facebook page, read: “It may have been cold and damp on Monday evening but that did not stop the ladies having a very enjoyable and well drilled first training session.

“It was a great turn out and many of us re- introduced to muscles some of us had forgotten we owned.

“Thank you to the coaches and everyone for giving 100 per cent to get us off to a great start.

“Here's to many more and look forward to seeing everyone for the upcoming sessions in the future.”

Anyone interested in getting involved in the training sessions should contact Kelly or Becca at the Rhyl Rugby Club Ladies’ Facebook page.

All ages and abilities are welcome to attend.
