LLANDUDNO Amateurs moved to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division summit with an emphatic 12-1 home rout over Old Colwyn.

The promotion hopefuls are now one point clear of long-time pacesetters Llansannan with two games in hand, with back-to-back championships now well within their sights following their 13th triumph in 15 contests so far this term.

Aiden Bell was in fine form throughout the one-sided affair and was rewarded for his exceptional display with a hat-trick.

There was a constant stream of attacks from the outset, with Gareth Sharp, Steve Kirk, Mike Chapman and Azzy Rogers all helping themselves to a brace apiece, with midfielder Mathew Beach also on the scoresheet with a solitary strike.

The visitors did manage a consolation, which arrived courtesy of a neat finish from Dan Roberts.

Llandudno Athletic booked their place in the JT (Charlie) Jones Presidents’ Cup final with a 2-0 success at Rhuddlan Town.

The away side got off to a good start and took the lead with just eight on the clock when Jamie Moorhouse took advantage of some space to convert an opportunity, and an own goal doubled their advantage to condemn Wayne Hughes’ side to defeat at the final four stage.

Athletic will now go on to play either Abergele or Machno United in the end of season showcase, with their semi-final postponed due to a waterlogged surface.
