LLANDUDNO Albion remain on the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One summit after a sensational 6-2 win at Llanrug United.

Darren Jones’ men produced arguably their finest result of the season to keep their four-point cushion, but title rivals Bodedern Athletic and Llangefni Town have considerably more games to play that could decide the overall outcome of the championship.

The returning Dave Maddock gave Albion the lead after 26 minutes, and the prolific forward was on hand to double their advantage soon after with another well-taken finish.

This provoked a strong response from the home side, who got themselves back into the game on 33 minutes when Dylan Owen converted from the penalty spot, and United restored parity to the score in the final action of the first period through Jonathan Sadler.

It was one-way traffic after the break, with the visitors netted four times throughout the second half courtesy of Peter Evans (2), Danial Evans and Joel Lloyd to secure a valuable three points.

Llandudno Junction were unable to derail Llangefni Town’s promotion push as they fell to a 3-0 home defeat.

Goals from Craig Roberts and Liam Morris gave Chris Roberts’ side a comfortable cushion at the break, with Alan Mark Owen rounding off the scoring late on.

Llanrwst United were also beaten on their travels thanks to a 4-2 loss at in-form St Asaph City.

The home side wasted no time in making an impact on proceedings and went ahead after just five minutes through a neat finish from Josh Brown, before Sam Roberts levelled from the spot with 25 gone.

This provoked a strong response from the Saints, who ensured they went into the break with a slender advantage when Brown rounded off a fine team move with a close-range finish on 32 minutes.

United got back on level terms yet again when Roberts secured his brace on the hour mark, but back came City and goals from Brown and Dan Williams condemned the Rwsters’ to defeat.
