A TREBLE from Josh Brown guided in-form St Asaph City to a comfortable 4-2 home success over Llanrwst United.

The Saints have been in scintillating form throughout the month and produced another impressive attacking display to secure their fourth successive success, leaving them sitting in eighth position in the standings ahead of their next outing at Llanberis on Saturday (2.30pm).

Manager Daniel Brewerton, said: “What a great way to finish the month. We set ourselves a target at the beginning of February and the lads have gone over and above what we asked for.

“We were on the front foot right again from the off and got a deserved early lead, and we kept going right until the end to cap off another all-round good team performance.”

The home side wasted no time in making an impact on proceedings and went ahead after just five minutes through a neat finish from Brown.

Paul Fleming and Brown both went close immediately following the restart during a dominant spell from the hosts, but the Rwsters’ slowly got a foothold into the contest and restored parity to the score-line on 25 minutes when Sam Roberts converted from the penalty spot.

This provoked a strong response from the Saints, who ensured they went into the break with a slender advantage when Brown rounded off a fine team move with a close-range finish on 32 minutes.

The second period was an even affair during the opening exchanges, but United got back on level terms yet again when Roberts secured his brace on the hour mark, but back came City soon after and they were given a penalty of their own on 74 when Brown was felled in the box, with the same player dusting himself off to successfully put away the spot kick for his hat-trick.

Brewerton’s men sealed another three points in fine style on 82 minutes when a thunderous long-range volley from Dan Williams found the bottom corner.
