ABERGELE booked their place in the Premier Cup final with a sensational 2-0 extra-time victory over in-form Llansannan.

Gele dug deep in the additional 30 minutes to progress to the showcase at the expense of the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division leaders, leaving them with a chance of silverware later on in the campaign.

A scoreless first period saw both sides waste good opportunities to seize the initiative, and this same pattern of play continued after the break as both sides had to settle for extra-time after a hotly contested 90 minutes of action.

The home side got a crucial breakthrough with 100 on the clock when Liam Roberts finally found the net, and with Gari Evans’ side pushing for a leveller late on they were undone by a quick Gele counter on 118 minutes that saw Jack Lloyd Williams double their advantage to seal a notable success.

They will play against Llandudno Athletic in the showpiece following their 3-1 win at Llanfairfechan Town.

Goals from Jamie Moorhouse and Danny Talbot gave the away side a comfortable cushion at the interval, but they were pegged back on 75 minutes through an Aron Davies effort.

This hope proved to be fleeting as Nathan Williams secured the win for Athletic with a fine finish on 83 minutes.

Rhos United are celebrating a place in the REM Jones Cup final after they sealed a 2-1 triumph over Betws-y-Coed, with Tom Skelley and Ben Smith on target in the first half.
