RHUDDLAN Town turned on the style to secure an emphatic 9-2 victory at Old Colwyn.

Wayne Hughes’ side have enjoyed a fine first season in the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division after securing promotion last term, and they now sit in sixth position and comfortably above the drop zone.

The visitors opened the scoring on 26 minutes courtesy of an impressive effort from Jordan Frazier on 26 minutes, and they doubled their advantage soon after when Matty Rees finished well with 32 gone.

Things got even better for the away side just before the half-time whistle when prolific forward Jordan Bellham added a third after 42 minutes, with Callum Roberts netting two minutes following the restart to all-but secure three points.

Credit to the hosts, they kept plugging away despite the deficit and grabbed their first consolation immediately after the restart through Martyn Richards, but this joy proved to be short-lived as Rees and Bellham managed to net twice in quick succession to give Town an unassailable ascendancy.

Rees rounded off an exceptional afternoon in front of goal with another well-taken strike to complete his hat-trick on 66 minutes, and although Steve Colling added a second for the home side, they were undone by two more goals late on which arrived from Josh Parry and Connor Bucknall to put the exclamation point on a ruthless display from the visitors.

Hughes’ have a chance to reach the JT (Charlie) Jones Presidents’ Cup final when they next take the field against Llandudno Athletic in what promises to be a mouth-watering semi-final clash.
