LLANSANNAN booked their place in the North Wales Coast FA Junior Cup fourth round with a comfortable 4-1 home success over Abergele.

Gari Evans and Tom Lewis’ side made light work of their derby rivals to secure a place in the last eight, where they face a difficult trip to Gwynedd League leaders Menai Bridge Tigers.

An even start to proceedings was turned on its head on 31 minutes when the home side went in front thanks to an unfortunate own goal from Jared Jones, and things got even better for the hosts just before the half time whistle when a neat passage of play presented a chance to Rhidian Edwards, who made no mistake with the finish to double their advantage with 43 gone.

After the break saw the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division leaders pull further clear on 47 minutes when experienced striker Geraint Jones continued his excellent recent form with another well-taken effort, but this was met by a swift response from Gele as Jack Hoult got them back into the tie on 53.

The away side’s joy proved to be short-lived as Sannan all-but booked their spot in the next stage of the competition when Edwards notched his second of the afternoon after 62 minutes, and they saw the remainder of the game out in comfortable fashion to progress.

Also through to the next round are Llanfairfechan Town, who ousted current holders Nefyn United 4-3 after a thrilling 120 minutes of action.

There was no such luck for Llanelwy Athletic, who bowed out thanks to a 7-2 defeat at Menai Bridge Tigers, with fellow Division One outfit Y Glannau failing to hold on to a two-goal lead in their 3-2 loss at Arriva Bangor.

Rhuddlan Town also exit at the third-round stage with a heavy 6-1 reverse at the hands of Bro Goronwy, with Henllan, Llandudno Athletic and Bro Cernyw crashing out against Talysarn Celts, Bryngwran Bulls and Holyhead Hotspur Reserves.
