HOLYHEAD Hotspur talisman Mel McGinness has been rewarded for his outstanding recent form with a special award.
The talented forward has been at the top of his game for Darren Garmey’s side in recent weeks, and he has been acknowledged with the Huws Gray Alliance Player of the Month for January.
He became synonymous with the Holy Islanders’ thanks to his sterling commitment and level of performances under former manager Campbell Harrison, and this form has continue following the Christmas period as Spurs look to improve their second-tier fortunes and avoid the drop.
McGinness is also set to play a prominent role for the Ynys Mon men’s football side later this summer at the Inter-Games tournament, which is being hosted on Anglesey for the first time.
The playmaker further enhanced his reputation as one of the best players anywhere outside of the JD Welsh Premier League for Spurs during their outstanding Huws Gray Cup final against derby rivals Bangor City, netting the final goal for the home side in the 7-5 win after extra-time.
