LLANGEFNI Town manager Chris Roberts is in bullish mood as his side look to cause another JD Welsh Cup giant-killing this weekend.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One promotion hopefuls welcome top-flight side Llandudno in a mouth-watering fourth round clash on Saturday, with Cefni looking to dispose of Welsh Premier League opposition for the second time this season after ousting Llanelli Town in the third round.

Town, who come into the game on the back of a penalty shootout victory over Blaenau Ffestiniog Amateurs in the Mawddach Challenge Cup, will fancy their chances against Iwan Williams’ side following their recent struggles which sees them bottom of the WPL standings.

Roberts, said: “I am a Llangefni lad and when i first took over as manager of my hometown club I said that I wanted to take the club back up the leagues and give the town a football club they can be proud of.

“Getting a win on Saturday would mean everything to me and I want to do it for our fans and the people of Llangefni.

“Confidence is high amongst the players and staff and we know the importance of working as a team on getting the basics right on Saturday if we are to get anything out of this game.

“No-one expected us to beat Llanelli in the last round, but we did and in truth we could have won by more than 1-0. We will go into the game full of belief and once again give it everything we’ve got.

“I believe in my players and fully expect us to give Llandudno a good game, we know it will be a tough test but one we are all looking forward to.

“Llandudno are not getting the rub of the green at present but have also shown how good they can be in the two games against Caernarfon over Christmas so we know it will be another tough test for us and that we will need to be at our best if we are to get anything out of the game.

“I have done a lot of work on Llandudno in the build up to this game having been to watch them a few times and spoken to a few people, we will be fully prepared come kick off.”
