PRESTATYN Sports picked up another positive result on their travels with a 3-3 draw at Penrhyndeudraeth.

Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ side went two-up early on but had to settle for a share of the spoils after a fine comeback from the hosts, and the result leaves them in sixth position in the standings ahead of their Mawddach Challenge Cup second round clash with Llanrwst United at their Gronant base on Saturday.

The home side made the perfect start when Ben Cawley put them ahead with just two minutes gone, and they managed to double their advantage soon after when James Harper’s fierce drive found its way into the net.

This provoked a strong response from the home side, who got themselves back into the game on 36 minutes when Steve Jones hit the target, and Pen managed to get back on level terms after the break courtesy of a neat finish from Huw Quaeck with 58 gone.

Sports regained the initiative immediately following the restart with a quick break presented a chance to Mike Jones, who made no mistake with the finish, but they were pegged back once again on 64 minutes when Alwyn Jones equalised for what turned out to be the final goal in a pulsating encounter.
