A SUPERB hat-trick from James Sweetman guided Kinmel Bay Reserves to a 4-1 home success over Conwy Borough Reserves.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Reserve Division side got back to winning ways after their cup defeat last weekend, producing a fine attacking display to lift them to tenth position in the standings.

Despite the eventual result it was the Tangerines that started the game on the front foot and they got the breakthrough on 19 minutes when Aaron Royles finished off an impressive spell of possession to open the scoring.

This provoked a strong response from the home side, who got back on level terms almost instantly when Sweetman converted a chance for his first of the afternoon on 22 minutes.

Both sides were finding things difficult thanks to the blustery conditions, and with the game heading into its closing stages Sweetman popped up to deliver another finish on 80 minutes, and the in-form forward rounded off a sensational individual display with his hat-trick to double their advantage with 85 on the clock.

There was still time for the hosts to enjoy further success in front of goal, with a quick break presented a chance to Jordan Worthington, who made no mistake to complete the scoring with two minutes remaining.
