PRESTATYN Sports now occupy tenth spot in the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One standings after falling to a 3-0 loss at Llanberis.

Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ side were left rueing a host of missed chances after dominating possession for long periods, and things do not get any easier for the newly promoted outfit this Saturday as they make the daunting trip to unbeaten league leaders Llangefni Town on Saturday (2.30pm).

The first period saw Sports create a number of significant opportunities to open the scoring, but they were crucially unable to convert any of them which would come back to haunt them after the break.

Gradually the home side began to impose themselves on proceedings following the interval, and they went ahead on the hour mark when David Jones finished well.

Things went from bad to worse for the away side shortly after when they were undone once again after 72 minutes when Gethin Wakeham doubled the hosts’ advantage, and Sports’ defeat was confirmed a minute from time when Jones rounded off a fine individual display with his second of the afternoon.

Despite the loss, Sports have started their first ever season in the third tier relatively well, winning four and losing for of their opening ten contests to leave them five points off the top three.
