LLANELWY Athletic continued their relentless start to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Division One season with an emphatic 8-3 triumph at Llysfaen.

Greg Montgomery was the star of the show with a super treble to lead his side to glory, with Dan Price and James Burke netting a brace apiece during the rout.

A two-goal salvo from Jason Hession did the majority of the damage, with Morgan Jones and Dan Williams also hitting the target to give them another valuable three points.

Y Glannau lost ground to the chasing pack after they were held 1-1 by Betws-y-Coed.

Andy Morris’ strike on the half hour mark gave the hosts a lead at the break, but Rhys Williams pounced for the leveller with 65 gone to ensure both sides had something to show for their efforts.

Rhos United piled on the misery for basement dwellers Denbigh Development as goals from Matt Christie, Phemmy Allison and Chris King gave them a 3-0 home win, and Rhuddlan Town Reserves had efforts from James Pagetti and Liam Bowers to thank for a 3-2 victory at Llanfairfechan Town Reserves.
