PRESTATYN Town manager Neil Gibson hailed his side’s performance as they secured an impressive 3-0 win over Conwy Borough.

The returning boss marked his first league game back at the Motion Finance Stadium to move off the Huws Gray Alliance basement, and the Seasiders’ legend was thrilled with the overall contribution from every member of the squad.

Gibson, said: “I was extremely happy. First league game back in front of the home fans on a Friday night under the lights, which is one of the reasons I came back to the club.

“It was set up for a good performance and it was always going to be difficult against a very good Conwy side, we had to be at our best but the lads have been exceptional since I’ve come in and the quality that has been on show with just two or three weeks’ work will hopefully mean we get get even better.

“What pleased me most was the patience as it would have been easy for them to panic after missing chances in the first half, but I backed them and told them they would keep coming and I am delighted for the three lads that found the net.

“We defended resolutely and didn’t have a bad performance from anybody and that is what I am trying to get across, that it is a collective effort and not just from the lads that start. We need to all be pushing each other to get better.”

Gibson also praised the considerable Town support since he made his move back to the club from Connah’s Quay Nomads, and he is looking for more of the same from them when they welcome high-flying Flint Town United on Saturday (2.30pm).

“It’s important we don’t take the fans for granted as I am a fan myself and this is my club which means an awful lot to me,” added Gibson.

“The players are grateful for the support they get and have to put performances that gets them behind us. This is a special place to be and this is for everyone and that’s what it’s about.”
