RHYL first team coach Richard Williams-Cooke said the squad are in “high spirits” as they prepare to welcome Holyhead Hotspur to the Belle Vue Stadium.

The Lilywhites are seeking their third successive victory in all competitions after a marked improvement in the performances over the last fortnight, but they come up against a Holyhead side that have also enjoyed a resurgence of late following a disappointing start to the season under Darren Garmey.

They have also been further boosted by the signing of prolific striker Marc Evans, who recently returned to The New Stadium after a record-breaking spell with New Zealand outfit Melville United.

Williams-Cooke, said: “We go into the game in high spirits following the last two performances.

“The lads have trained really well this week and are eager to continue the run we are on. Last week's performance had a bit of everything, some great football at times and we created some good chances but also dug in and battled it out when we had to which is always a good thing.

“We need to be more ruthless in front of goal though to kill teams off when we are on top to ease the pressure on ourselves.

“We expect a stern test from Holyhead after their recent turnaround. Marc Evans has scored goals at every level and they have several other threats going forward.

“We need to be right at it from the start to get the crowd behind us and hopefully deliver three points and start climbing the league.

“We are still waiting for a first clean sheet of the season also which the lads are working hard on. Cai Owen's clearance is through which is great news and we have new signings ready to play tomorrow if not next week."
