A TALENTED young cricketer has been rewarded for an exceptional campaign with two special awards from his regional side.

Anthony Bowe came away with a double success from Prestatyn Cricket Club’s recent Presentation Evening thanks to a number of standout performances as part of their youth system.

The 14-year-old received the Junior Player of the Year in recognition of his incredible contribution, and he also managed to come away with the Batsman of the Year Award following a series of outstanding knocks that played a huge contributing factor in the team’s overall success.

He has been part of the Liverpool and District Cricket League Division One side’s set-up since the U9s and has been working incredibly hard to significantly develop his skills with the club’s hard-working coaching staff.

Allen Boyd, director of sport at Rydal Penrhos School in Colwyn Bay, where Bowe attends, said: “Anthony is a quiet pupil who does all his talking with his performances, which are always of an immensely high standard.

“This is a testament not only to his natural ability to perform consistently under pressure, but also the coaching and support he is receiving at Prestatyn Cricket Club and with us here at Rydal Penrhos.

“I have no doubt that Anthony can develop even more in the future if he continues to show the same sort of application, and we will strive to ensure his incredible potential is fully realised in the months and years ahead.”
