ST ASAPH City picked up their first home win of the Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One season with an impressive 2-0 win over Llanberis.

The Saints have shown some encouraging signs of late under new manager Daniel Brewerton and they turned in their most polished performance of the campaign to date to move up into 12th spot in the standings.

The home side started the game on the front foot and went ahead after 17 minutes when Paul Fleming finished well after a strong spell of possession.

After the break saw the hosts finally seal the points on 72 minutes when Fleming pounced for his second of the afternoon, and Brewerton’s men saw out the remainder of the game in comfortable fashion to pick up a moral boosting victory on home soil.

Prestatyn Sports picked up a valuable point on their travels with a 2-2 draw at in-form Nantlle Vale.

Things looked bleak for Mark Hughes and John Hargreaves’ men as the home side went two up early on thanks to a clinical brace for Rob Daniels, but they managed to avoid further complications until the interval and saw a marked improvement in their performance in the second period.

Darren Cassidy got them back into the contest with a thumping header from a Dean Hyland corner, and Robbie Dunn managed to prod home from close range to secure a share of the spoils.

Kinmel Bay mounted a stunning fightback to secure a dramatic 3-3 home draw with Division Two rivals Mochdre Sports.

The hosts were staring down a heavy defeat after Scott Roberts (2) and Kie Davies gave Sports a comfortable cushion with an hour gone, but Bay showed tremendous resolve to hit back with efforts from Jordan Worthington, Anthony Jones and a stoppage time Kieran Ellis strike to salvage a point.

There was no such luck for Meliden, who were on the wrong end of a 4-1 defeat at Penmaenmawr Phoenix.
