PRESTATYN were undone by a sensational bowling display from Amhad Abdullah in their slender 24-run home loss to Birkenhead Park.

The visiting bowler was the star of the show to condemn the Beach Close side to defeat, and the result sees them swap places with Park in the standings ahead of their trip to Wavertree on Saturday.

Standout Peter Cassidy wasted no time in making an impact with the new ball when he skittled Rob Stirrup for three, and Kieron New also got in on the act early on with the prized scalp of Chris Bellis after the opener contributed 12.

The dangerous Abdullah was run out after making a promising 19, with Adam Tidswell aiding his side’s cause with the wickets of Harry Meehan (25), Dan Jordan (10) and Dale Taylor (19) on his way to figures of 3-37.

Cassidy claimed two more victims in the form of Khalid Wahbi (12) and skipper Jonathan Crofton (4) to end the day on 3-44, with New also claiming a treble at the expense of 28 runs as the visitors were all out for 123 from 42 overs in the middle.

Abdullah got to work immediately with the ball with the quick-fire wickets of openers Ryan Westwell (15) and Cassidy (16), and he also took out Robert Rimmington (0) and Danny Thomas (1) soon after to give the home side a mountain to climb early on.

The same trend continued throughout the innings, with Abdullah sending Gareth Leonard (23), Kieron Tidswell (0) and Adam Tidswell (0) back to the pavilion to finish a superb 21-over spell with figures of 7-41.

This proved to be the difference between the two sides, and despite a knock of 29 from Sheil Sethi it was not enough as the hosts made 99 all out in reply.
