RHUDDLAN Town have received a boost regarding their playing to secure the club’s long-term future.

Manager Wayne Edward Hughes confirmed that the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division outfit have reached an agreement to play their home fixtures for the upcoming season at the Coronation Gardens in Rhyl, leasing the site for home fixtures to benefit the side in the immediate future.

They are currently in discussions with senior figures at Pengwern College to use their playing site for a more stable home.

Hughes, said: “I’ve heard from my lads that a lot of people outside of the club seem to think the club will fold by October.

“Yes, we are having trouble regarding our changing rooms and pitch but that’s as far as it goes. Rhuddlan FC are going to be around for a very long time, we have the people on board now that I trust massively and know they will help safeguard the club’s future.

“It’s beyond me why Rhuddlan Town Council won’t help the club out in any way possible but that’s the way it is unfortunately.

“We will carry on being Rhuddlan Town FC and represent the people of Rhuddlan for as long as they want us.”

The club’s long-term facility was deemed not fit for purpose earlier this summer, with the estimated repairs set to cost around £10,000.
