A YOUTHFUL Prestatyn Town Reserves continued their busy friendly fixtures with a 2-1 home loss to Meliden.
Talented youngster Macauley Taylor almost opened the scoring on ten minutes when he fired narrowly wide after good work from Aaron White, and Casey Faulkner failed to find the target shortly after more good approach play on 12.
The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division Two side forced a good stop from Elias Jones after 26 minutes, but Town responded well and finally hit the target on 28 after Taylor finished well after latching on to a Faulkner delivery.
After the break saw the visitors restore parity to the scoreline when a sweeping team move saw them level matter on 51 minutes.
Things got even better for the fourth-tier side soon after when a cross evaded everyone and flew over Jones on 56 minutes to give them the lead for the first time in the friendly contest.
Jones was called into action again midway through the half when he acrobatically tipped an effort round the post after 71 minutes, but the young Seasiders were unable to find a route back into the contest to condemn them to defeat.
