PRESTATYN Town stalwart Richie Ingram has confirmed his departure from the club.

The popular figure has decided to leave the Huws Gray Alliance side with immediate effect after a five-year spell.

Ingram played a huge contributing factor behind the continued success of the Town Academy, which has seen a plethora of young talent promoted to the senior set-up thanks to the impressive foundation they receive at youth level.

He first arrived as a coach before becoming head of the club’s youth programme, and this was followed by a stint within Neil Gibson’s backroom staff, where he aided the side to a number of different successes including promotion to the JD Welsh Premier League following their Huws Gray Alliance championship winning campaign.

He said: “After giving it a lot of thought I’ve decided to step down from all of my roles at Prestatyn Town FC due to family commitments.

“I would like to thank club directors Leigh Williams and Tony O’Reilly for giving me the opportunity to be head of youth development at the club.

“I would also like to thank Neil Gibson and Gareth Wilson for their support during my time as part of the first team staff, and Leon Field and Ryan Turner over the short time we’ve worked together. I extend my thanks to Dave Fuller, Martin Bolly and J.P. for their support over the last few years.

“Finally, I would like to thank all parents, players and academy coaches for their efforts during my time at Prestatyn. It’s been a blast and I wish the club all the best for the season ahead..”

Club director Tony O’Reilly, added: “Richie has been an absolute star for the club, and he will be truly missed around the place.

“From overseeing our youth system to running our school holiday soccer camps, and all the other work he’s put in, Richie - thanks for everything.”
