PRESTATYN Town have confirmed three more signings as their new-look squad take part in their first friendly fixture this weekend.

The Seasiders’ joint-management team of Leon Field and Ryan Turner have secured the services of James Jones and Chris Bennett from Kinmel Bay and St Asaph City respectively, with talented youngster Sam Herd also agreeing to remain at the Motion Finance Stadium for their return to the Huws Gray Alliance.

Town supporters will get the chance to run the rule over their recent signings when they host AFC Bridgnorth (1pm) as preparations gather pace ahead of what is expected to be a hugely competitive second tier next term.

Jones was part of the Bay side that secured the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division title last season, and has also enjoyed spells at high-profiles sides including Rhyl and Flint Town United.

Pacey midfielder Bennett is another who comes with a glowing reputation after a sensational spell at the Saints, with the 25-year-old eager to “repay the faith” shown in him by Field and Turner.

Herd has been part of the Town set-up for the last two seasons and made a considerable impression when called-up to the first team under Neil Gibson and Gareth Wilson.

The 19-year-old resisted overtures from elsewhere to remain at the club, and said: “This will be my most challenging season yet, but I’m ready for it.

“Having come up through the youth levels I know what it means to play for this club.”
