ANOTHER superb bowling display from Peter Cassidy guided Prestatyn to a narrow 33-run home victory over Orrell Red Triangle.

The in-form side now sit in fourth spot in the Liverpool and District Cricket League Division One standings after a standout success over their promotion rivals, and Gareth Boughey’s men will look to continue their sensational run of recent results when they travel to Fleetwood Hesketh on Saturday.

The home side made an indifferent start to their time at the crease when Siddiq Patel disposed of opener Ryan Westwell for 18, and the same bowler also despatched Cassidy (26), Sheil Sethi (0) and Daniel Williams to end his mammoth 23 over spell with figures of 4-74.

Boughey made a promising 33 before he played a Joe Lyth delivery into the hands of Patel, with David Harris (21), Joe Horton (20*) and Rhys Jones (18) also making it into double digits as the hosts declared on 187-9 from their 55 overs in the middle.

The outstanding Cassidy wasted no time in making his presence felt with the new ball and ousted visiting skipper Andrew Mottram for a duck, and he also sent Sam Heeley and Chris Riley back to the pavilion for 22 apiece after the duo threatened to post a match-winning total.

This same pattern continued soon after when Cassidy took out Mohammed Bhada (13) and Will Griffiths (0), and he added to his collection with the wicket of wicketkeeper David Naylor (15) to take his final tally to 6-69 and make it 15 scalps in the last two league outings.

Ricard Everett was superbly run out by Horton after top scoring with 33, and despite an unbeaten 31 from Patel it was not enough as Kieron New took two crucial lower order wickets to ensure the away side were 154 all out in reply.
