RHYL have further bolstered their attacking options with the signings of James Stead and Matty Worrall.

The Lilywhites have been extremely active in the transfer window as the new management team of Dave Norman, Eddie Maurice-Jones and Richard Williams-Cooke completely overhaul the current squad as they look to improve the club’s fortunes and challenge for the Huws Gray Alliance title next ter.

Stead returns to the Belle Vue Stadium after a four-year spell at rivals Prestatyn Town, where he played a huge role in their championship winning season that saw them return to the JD Welsh Premier League last term.

The gifted playmaker enhanced his growing reputation despite the Seasiders’ struggles in the top flight, and he is another significant addition to a squad that has lofty ambitions heading into the new campaign.

Worrall is no stranger to the new management team having played under them at Denbigh Town, where he helped the Central Park side achieve their highest ever league finish when they finished second behind Caernarfon Town.

It has been a hugely busy fortnight for Maurice-Jones and his staff, who have signed Kristian Pierce, Danny Sullivan, Gareth Partridge, Matthew Cook and goalkeeper Jonathan Hill-Dunt from Denbigh, in addition to defender Max Peate and midfielder Dave McIntyre from Gresford Athletic.

Talented forward Aaron Hassall has also signed for their promotion tilt, and the Lilies’ hierarchy received a further boost with the news that Stewart Carroll, Mike Walsh and young full-back Tom Hartley have agreed contract extensions.

More announcements are expected in the coming days, with the club in discussions with a number of potential new arrivals as they continue to rebuild ahead of a busy pre-season of high-profile friendly fixtures.
