RGC head coach Mark Jones was left rueing missed opportunities following his side’s 20-20 draw with Carmarthen Quins.
The Gogs were denied a victory by a late Steffan Marshall penalty in the closing stages against their Principality Premiership title rivals, and they close out a trio of home fixtures on Saturday when they welcome Swansea to Stadiwm Zip World.
Jones, said: “We scored three tries against a good side, and also left plenty of chances on the pitch.
"It is a lesson we can learn from, making sure we take opportunities and also be patient when we create them. When we play the top sides we don’t get as many chances, so it is crucial that we take them when they arrive.
“Quins bring a good set-piece and they have been causing problems to all the sides in the Premiership this season, but when you look at it, two of our three tries came from our set piece – one from a solid scrum and another from a line-out.
“The important thing for us it that we learn from today and in turn be better next week, and that continual improvement is what we look for from the players.”
The stalemate leaves RGC in third spot and seven points behind Merthyr with a game in hand ahead of their clash with the Swans, who have 12 points from four games since the start of phase two.
