RHUDDLAN Bowling Club achieving its second consecutive promotion in the North Wales Coast Bowling Saturday League last weekend, with Les Capper once again the team’s top block.
Captain Caroline Evans successfully steered her team to second place behind Division C winners Criccieth after Rhuddlan beat Old Colwyn 9-3 in the final match of an exciting season.
Chair Mike Elgin said after the team secured another promotion: “Rhuddlan is becoming the Wrexham AFC of the coastal bowling league scene!”
Elsewhere, Grove Park A team maintained its recent unbeaten run with a creditable 6-6 draw against Kinmel Bay in the final North Wales Coast League Division D fixture last Saturday.
A sporting end of season encounter produced some thrilling games on a first-class home green.
Rob Hart (21-7) and Glyn Roberts (21-7) were top blocks for the Rhyl side, who finished in fourth place.
