IN THE last round of matches in the Welsh Veterans Inter-League for the British Aerospace Challenge Cup played at Rhuddlan Bowling Club yesterday (August 7), Clwydian Seniors just pipped their Wrexham counterparts, winning 223 to 221 on aggregate with seven winners to five.
Clwydians’ captain, Geraint Roberts led from the front, and was their joint best scorer with 21-14 alongside Jim Mottershead.
Wrexham’s top block was Dewi Jones, a 21-5 winner on the Rhuddlan green.
In the away leg at Bersham, it was a far different story, with Wrexham romping home with an aggregate score of 224 to 178, representing a 9-3 result in games.
Elfyn Jones was the Clwydians’ top performer, winning 21-9 while Wrexham’s top block was Kevin Rogers a 21-7 winner.
