Using junior-sized bowls provided with grant aid from Rhuddlan Town Council, the coaches focussed on essential basic skills and techniques required for participation in the sport.

Playing standards improved during the 90-minute session and the children left the green afterwards somewhat wiser about the world of crown green bowls.

Mike Elgin, club chair, said: “Rhuddlan Bowling Club were very pleased to host this session as we are constantly looking at ways of engaging the younger generation in our wonderful game.”
