THE past 12 months has seen major developments at Prestatyn Running Club, with many new members joining and fresh challenges being undertaken.
The revival of fortunes will be reflected in the annual presentation night taking place next Saturday (August 31) in the Scala.
After receiving a record number of nominations the committee has narrowed the shortlists in each category down to the following (no particular order):
Male road runner of the year: Dave Ellis, Oliver Birch-Jones, Marc Jones.
Female road runner: Nicki Triggs, Sue Hughes, Ann Claire Jones.
Male cross-country runner: Tom Carter, Gordon Jones, Lee Bailey.
Female cross-country runner: Ann Claire Jones, Emma Birchall, Liz Martin.
Male fellrunner: Lee Bailey, Ben Thomas, Martin Cortvriend.
Female fellrunner: Ann Claire Jones, Mandy Cartwright, Sophie Johnson.
Most improved male: Oliver Birch-Jones, Marc Jones, Nem James.
Most improved female: Nicki Triggs, Ceri Vaughan, Clare Manley.
Best newcomer: Ceri Vaughan, Mark Dakeyne.
The captains’ awards will also be presented, along with the member of the year award and mementos for those members who completed the requisite number of Borders League and Cross-Country League fixtures.
To be eligible for the various awards, members had to have joined before April this year.

Meanwhile, the Feel, Find, Mind roadshow, in support of breast cancer awareness, headed for the Nant y Pandy Parkrun on Saturday (August 24), with 17 club members making the journey to Llangefni.
The club had two finishers in the first 10, Dave Ellis coming second and George Williams fifth.
