IT WAS a busy but successful season for Prestatyn Badminton Club, who had an extra five teams join, giving plenty of opportunities for players to play plenty of games.

Its A team mixed endured a tough season in Division One, challenging themselves against some of the best players in the area, but despite their best efforts, weren't able to avoid relegation.

The B Team mixed surpassed all expectations, finishing mid-table in the second division.

Pre-season expectations were to be competitive in the league and have fun, but the side proved to be worthy of their place in the league, with wins against Buckley at home, and a win away at Llanferres.

One of its newest teams, the C Team Mixed, was a mix of experience of youth.

Despite the results not being what the team would have wanted, players got their first taste of league action, and partnerships developed throughout the season.

The A Team men once again endured a tough season but did well to stay in Division One, and the B Team men were extremely successful in winning all games in Division Three, winning the league and gaining promotion to Division Two.

The C team men started the season strongly but the strong competition in Division Three proved too much.

The women's team were imposing, and pushed rivals Connah’s Quay all the way, as they finished second in Division Two of the women's league, narrowly missing out on promotion.

A spokesperson for the club said: “What a great season for the club, well done to all those who played.

“We are already excited for next season, and are preparing for a busy summer ahead!”
