THE festive season may be a time for relaxing, but for some members of Prestatyn Running Club, there was no easing up.

Debbie Jones was the busiest of the lot, completing two parkruns and one race in eight days, while several others doubled up with parkruns on December 30 and then on New Year’s Day.

Debbie was one of four Prestatyn ladies who joined the large field for the Round the Walls Race in Chester on Boxing Day, a 6k event which includes a circuit of the Roodee racecourse.

Their placings were: 321 Ann Claire Jones 39.35, 329 Debbie Jones 39.43, 337 Helen Alefounder 39.51, 494 Julie Evans 51.12.

Meanwhile, 19 members shook off the lethargy of the Christmas break through parkruns on Saturday, 12 of them at the Nova venue in Prestatyn.

Oliver Birch-Jones was among those who did the “double”, finishing second in the Nova run and then third in the Ruthin parkrun on New Year’s Day.
