FROM Spain to the Netherlands and on road and trail, members of Prestatyn Running Club have been in action at a wide range of venues during the weekend.

In total, 10 of them opted for a few days in the sun, joining Duncan Longley at his "second home" in Spain and sharing a couple of seafront runs with the group “El Banditos”.

Tom Carter also finished his holiday with a run, winning the Newborough Forest Parkrun in Anglesey, while Martin Cortvriend was once again on his travels, this time in the Netherlands.

A total of six members turned out in the popular Llyn Alwen trail race, the outstanding individual performance coming from Ceri Vaughan, who completed the 11.5k circuit in 54.07, coming second in the 20-29 class.

Other Alwen placings were: 16 Simon Bonfield 53.08, 46 Ann Claire Jones 64.53, 56 Cara Jones 67.31, 64 Elen Roberts 70.28.

In the Cani race over the same course Helen Alefounder and her canine partner finished 18th in 67.47.

Alex Ryder once again crossed the border to test himself against some of the North West's top runners in the Guilden Sutton 10k and finished a superb ninth, clocking 35.35.

The club had an excellent four finishers in the first 10 home in the Nova parkrun, with Cam Askam setting another PB.

Groe Parkrun (Builth Wells): 74 Mandy Cartwright 34.00, 75 Sophie Johnson 34.01.

Newborough Forest: 1 Tom Carter 16.54.

Delfse Hout: 30 Martin Cortvriend 27.20.

Chester: 341 Steve Hatfield 42.37.
