ABERGELE Harriers’ Rachel Shipley extended her excellent form yesterday (November 26), this time at the Wilmslow 10k.
In cold but decent conditions, she broke her own club record by 44 seconds in running 37:31 to finish 222nd and 16th lady out of the 4,370 runners.
On Saturday night (November 25), in Lanzarote, fellow Harriers member Darren Blazier took part in the “Night Run”; a 4km race ran around a lagoon in the dark.
Blazier finished in seventh place out of the 267 runners in 14:37.
Just 15 hours later, Blazier took part in the first event in the Lanzarote International Running Challenge, the Vince Regan Memorial 10k.
Running on heavy legs, he was fairly satisfied with 38:33 for 33rd position out of the 322 runners.
Elsewhere for the Harriers, Danny Snelson took on the Hillsborough parkrun and finished in 35 minutes and 41 seconds, while Anthony Howe completed the Conwy parkrun in 57 minutes and 58 seconds.
