CUSTOMERS and staff at a medieval gift shop in Conwy were left stunned when Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams visited at the weekend.

Williams, known for playing Arya Stark in the acclaimed HBO series, surprised patrons at The Knight Shop, opposite Conwy Castle.

In a nod to her Game of Thrones character, the shop's staff spoke to her about stocking a replica of Needle, her character Arya's famous sword.

Williams' character in Game of Thrones was the daughter of Ned Stark, played by Sean Bean.

The Knight Shop, which posted a picture of Maisie with staff member Elenya, said of her visit: "Look who’s in town? Our Elenya spotted her, got the pic and had a fab chat about The Knight Shop and how we stock ‘Needle’.

"Amazingly, Maisie doesn’t actually own her famous sword from The Game of Thrones, So we may be seeing her in the shop today!

"Thanks Maisie for being so lovely! (Sword in the pic with the AI House of Stark Sigil is just for attention)."

Game of Thrones, adapted from George R.R. Martin's book series, was not filmed in North Wales but its sister series, House of the Dragon, was shot at locations on Anglesey and in Gwynedd.

Williams recently starred in Practical Magic 2, a sequel to the 1998 cult film, alongside original cast members Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
