Eighteen locations across Denbighshire will host play sessions during the school break.

Organised by Denbighshire County Council’s Play Ranger service, the free "Let’s Play Out" events are designed to offer open-access play opportunities in communities across the county and will run throughout the October half-term.

Sessions are planned in Bodelwyddan, Carrog, Cefn Meiriadog, Corwen, Denbigh, Dyserth, Henllan, Llandyrnog, Llanferres, Llangollen, Meliden, Prestatyn, Rhuallt, Rhuddlan, Rhyl, Ruthin, St Asaph, and Trefnant.

Dawn Anderson, Denbighshire childcare and play development manager, said: "We are excited to release our schedule for the 'Let’s Play Out' sessions over the October half term.

"The offer over the half term includes 18 locations around Denbighshire running from Monday until Friday.

"The sessions are hosted in different parts of the county."

Aimed at children, the sessions are fully inclusive and designed to let children choose their own activities and equipment.

Parents or guardians of children aged six and above are required to register their child for the Play Ranger service before attending.

No registration is needed for children under six.

Councillor Huw Hilditch-Roberts, deputy leader and lead member for education, families, Welsh language, culture and heritage, said: "The 'Let’s Play Out' sessions allow families from all around Denbighshire to enjoy free play sessions throughout the October half term.

"All sessions are fully inclusive and are child-led, meaning children can decide how they want to play and what equipment they use.

"All sessions are free to attend, and families can register online beforehand or just turn up and register on arrival."

Parents and guardians are advised that the sessions operate on an open-access basis, meaning children are free to leave at any time.

Additional information and registration details are available on the Denbighshire County Council website.
