THREE members of Abergele Harriers didn’t have to travel too far last weekend, as it was the annual Abergele 5k and 10k on Sunday (October 18).

In the 5k Chris Spinks ran in a time of 28:19, to finish 107th out of the 196 runners.

The 10k featured prolific racer Darren Blazier, together with Mark Mayers, who hadn’t raced for a number of years.

On a beautiful but chilly day, Darren struggled in the second half, but still managed to secure his age group win, running 40:15 for 21st position.

Mark ran 48:42 for 102nd, and fifth in his age group.

The previous day, Harriers runner Anthony Howe took on the Conwy parkrun, finishing 189th of the 341 runners in 31:37.
