RESIDENTS of Ruthin have been affected by a water supply issue.

This is due to “essential maintenance,” which is impacting the Cyffylliog area of the town.

Dwr Cymru / Welsh Water apologised for the inconvenience caused, and said it is aiming to have the issue resolved by early this afternoon (October 15).

A Dwr Cymru statement read: “We're aware that customers in this area may have no water or low pressure at the moment due to essential maintenance being carried out by our teams.

“All supplies should be restored to normal by early this afternoon. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

“Running your cold kitchen tap will help to clear any discolouration in your supply. Further updates will be provided here when we have more information.

“There are five main stages we follow for essential maintenance. Stage one - we review the customer impact, risk and health and safety concerns.

“Stage two - repair planning, working with third parties, road closures, ordering of specialist equipment or fittings, reconfiguring the water network.

“Stage three - ensuring the safety of our teams and the public while we repair the leak.

“Stage four - returning the water network to normal and making good any surfaces. Stage five - final update.”
