RHYL is a hotbed for restaurants and eateries but is often forgotten amid the wealth of culinary expertise across North Wales.

We took to TripAdvisor to see which ones were the highest-rated, and this is their ranking.

10 - The Laughing Buddha

This Chinese restaurant is known for always being busy and is just a quick walk away from Rhyl's beachfront.

If you don't fancy eating in, the restaurant also does deliveries as far as Abergele and St Asaph. Not bad at all.

9 - Rossini's

Rossini's is tucked away close to the new Queen's Market, was a Travellers' Choice award winner this year and was even shortlisted for an Italian Award as one of the best in the UK.

A taste of Italy in the famous resort town, it even has an open kitchen where you can see your pizza being lovingly made.

8 - Barratt's of Tyn

This boutique bed and breakfast, on the outskirts of Rhyl, is led by Chef David Barratt in a building over 500 years old.

Its website invites you to "indulge in its fine dining restaurant" which has seasonal dishes inspired by French European cuisine. Don't mind if we do.

7 - Ffordd Derwen

A charming pub at the heart of the community, you can find traditional pub grub, a range of cask ales and much more.

With weekly entertainment and good customer service, this is one to check out.

6 - Les & Rita's Fish Bar

This iconic chippy is considered one of the best in the UK and for good reason.

It has been a favourite of Rhyl since being opened by Les and Rita Pidduck in 1968.

Now run by their daughter Kay, Les & Rita's is the perfect place for a visit to the beach.

5 - Artisan Cafe and Bistro

This business needs no introduction, and offers a range of drinks and food options, including British and Italian dishes.

We visited the bistro and this is what we thought.

4 - Ember Lounge

A sports bar and grill, Ember Lounge only opened last year but has already established a foothold in the town.

Located on the promenade, you can enjoy live sports, virtual darts, tasty food, and can even bring along your pooch. Perfect.

3 - 1891

Offering stunning views of the sea, the acclaimed 1891 has its own terrace to take in the sea breeze.

The restaurant mixes things up with different menus on different days, including tapas, grilled options, and an a la carte menu.

On the first floor of the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre, you can always catch a show afterwards.

2 - The Town Fryer

Hallowed ground for fish and chips lovers, this corner chippy is more than just a takeaway and café - it's a community hub.

The Journal went along to see what the fuss was about, and it did not disappoint.

1 - Marine Spice

Another business which opened last year, this has shot straight to the top of many people's list.

Marine Spice serves up authentic Indian cuisine and is based at the former home of The Bistro - and carries on the former bistro's penchant for mouth-watering flavour
