New leisure complex at Prestatyn park can host live events

Described as a “stunning new development” by owners Lyons Holiday Parks, the new facility at Lyons Lido Beach comprises a modern welcome area and reception, an owners' lounge, a sales office, and an Autograph restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace serving food and drinks.

It is scheduled to open to the public on Friday (September 11).

At a Denbighshire County Council licensing sub-committee meeting on Tuesday (September 8), its application for permission for “live music, recorded music, late-night refreshments and supply of alcohol” at the site was granted.

Its stated hours of operation are 9am to 1am from Monday to Sunday, and 11pm to 1am for late-night refreshments.

A spokesperson for Lyons Holiday Parks said: “The new facility will comprise a modern welcome area and reception, an owners' lounge, a sales office, and an Autograph Restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace serving food and drinks.

“The premises licence has been applied for to enable the operation of the restaurant and bar, including the sale of alcohol and the provision of regular live entertainment and events.

“These facilities are intended to enhance the experience for our holiday guests and holiday home owners by providing a high-quality venue for dining, socialising, and entertainment.

“In addition to serving those staying at the park, the new complex will also be open to the wider community.

“We hope it will become a welcoming destination for local residents and visitors to the area, offering a quality food, drink, and entertainment venue that contributes positively to the local tourism and hospitality offer.

“We look forward to bringing this exciting new facility to Lyons Lido Beach Holiday Park and believe it will provide significant benefits for both our customers and the local community.”

The application was successful despite numerous representations being submitted raising concerns.

These primarily related to concerns regarding noise from live and recorded music, from people arriving, departing and congregating outside the premises, late-night disturbances, antisocial behaviour, public safety, and broken glass and litter.

Other concerns raised were regarding parking provision, highway congestion, traffic generation and the impact of additional vehicles on surrounding residential roads.
