A DEDICATED fundraiser in the Rhyl area is to walk Yr Wydffa dressed as a bear to raise money for a cancer charity.
Richard Kendrick, of Helping Homeless North Wales, will hike up the mountain dressed as Paddington Bear on Saturday, September 12 in aid of Maggie’s.
He will be joined by members of staff from the Tesco store in Prestatyn’s town centre – donation buckets supporting the cause can be found in the supermarket.
Maggie’s opened a new cancer support centre at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan last September, providing help to patients from across the North Wales area.
Richard said: “We choose Maggie’s after visiting their new site in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd and seeing the amazing work going on.
“They support so many other cancer charities, and are a home from home for people batting cancer. The staff are so caring.”

Dame Laura Lee DBE, chief executive of Maggie’s, said at the opening of the Glan Clwyd centre last year: “Maggie’s is here for everyone who needs it, and we are free with no appointment or referral required.
“We know this makes a huge difference to helping people cope with their diagnosis: from getting ready for cancer treatment, help with potential side-effects, support after treatment, providing benefits advice, or coping with advanced cancer.”
The Steve Morgan Foundation provided £4million to build the centre.
