A PUB in Rhyl which closed last year is set to be bought by a couple from Anglesey.
The Millbank Inn, on Grange Road, sold for £280,000 at an auction on August 13.
Land Registry documents have shown that on August 24, law firm Trowers & Hamlins lodged a search on the property, “to protect a pending purchase in favour of Lewis on the Go Ltd”.
Jill and Paul Lewis are listed as the directors of Lewis on the Go Ltd, which was incorporated on August 19.
The couple are also directors of Lewis Property Investments Ltd, Lewis Property Developments Ltd, and Lewis Forecourts Ltd.
The Lewis Forecourt garage, in Pentraeth, had to rebuilt in 2016 after a fire destroyed the premises.
A sale had previously been agreed for The Millbank following its closure last year.
The property includes five bedrooms, two ensuite shower rooms, a family bathroom, a first-floor fitter kitchen, a function room and additional lounge, and a commercial catering kitchen.
In 2024, the pub faced a 10-week licence suspension from Denbighshire County Council, following an application from North Wales Police.
But it avoided having to close after it appealed the decision and subsequently “satisfied” the council with the improvements it made in the intervening period.
Conditions that the council agreed to attach to the pub’s licence included making images from its CCTV available on demand to police or local authority officers, and implementing an “incident and refusals book”.
