THOUSANDS of people went along to this year’s Prestatyn Classic Car Show as the popular exhibition celebrated its 25th year.
The annual exhibition took over the town’s High Street and adjacent Nant Hall Road car park, with more than 400 vehicles impressing motoring enthusiasts.
Of the 400 vehicles, crowd favourites included older Jaguars and Ferraris, a bronze Pontiac Firebird, Ford Mustangs, a Chevrolet Corvette C3 Stingray and a stunning Ford Gran Torino.
Colourful Mini Cooper collections delighted patrons, as well as a Morris Minor collection, Rovers, Triumphs, Rileys, and several other vintage British car brands.
Arts and crafts were plentiful, with a craft fair set up inside the church and several businesses on the High Street providing outdoor, on-the-go food options.
Competitions were also held, with several categories recognising the most pristine and best-kept vehicles.
Founder and organiser Tim Williams said the event “couldn’t have gone any better”, with the thousands of people in attendance a fitting way to celebrate its 25th year.
“I was a bit worried because the weather forecast sometimes puts people off but we've been lucky again,” Tim said.
“It's been really good again, it's been really busy again. Great cars. Everybody's so appreciative. “People just stop me saying ‘it’s the best’.
“I couldn't have believed we would have gone from 30, 40 cars to this. We started it as something for the millennia, and then we said: ‘Oh, it was popular, we'll do it again’. And it’s just gone on and on, it’s taken over life.
“We did this to promote Prestatyn town centre. I think it's a major, major thing we have.
“We were inspired by being on holiday in places, where they would have open events every month which bring visitors in, make people want to come into the town.”
As for his favourite vintage vehicle, Tim said if he had to pick one model it would be a Ford Escort or Capri.
He added: “I don't do the judging because I'd be too impartial!
“I've grown up with Ford Escorts. I used to rally when I was a young lad, and so I would pick a Ford Escort or a Ford Capri.”
