A MAJOR fundraiser has been launched to help a young Kinmel Bay mum explore potentially life-saving treatment options after she was given just weeks to months to live.
Bethany Elliot, who turned 30 in June, was initially told her triple-negative breast cancer was treatable and that she would come through the other side.
But devastatingly, the cancer has now spread to the lining around her brain and spinal cord, known as leptomeningeal disease (LMD).
Her hospital has now stopped all treatment and Bethany has been given a prognosis of just weeks to months.
Lifelong friend Danielle Molloy has launched a fundraiser to help Bethany explore other treatment options which may still be available to her privately.
Bethany is mum to two-year-old Isabelle, and her friends and family are determined to give her every possible chance.
Danielle said: "The hospital has now stopped all treatment, but we are determined not to give up. We are desperately looking into other treatment options that may be available to Bethany. These treatments will, of course, be private and could come at a huge financial cost.
"Every donation and every share could help give Bethany access to the options and treatment she so desperately needs.
"Bethany has everything to live for. She has a beautiful two-year-old little girl who needs her mum, and Bethany is not going down without a fight."
Danielle said she and Bethany have grown up "side-by-side" due to their mums being best friends.
"No one does loyalty like Bethany," Danielle said.
"She’s your biggest cheerleader for the highs and a steady anchor for the lows. Hilarious, kind, a beautiful mum, and the type of person who always shows up for people, and I feel incredibly lucky to have her in my life."
Bethany found out on August 5 that she had breast cancer.
She was initially told that, although it was an aggressive cancer, she had "good odds to beat it".
She had started treatment on August 18 but sadly, on Friday, August 21, she was diagnosed with leptomeningeal disease (LMD) and all cancer treatment has been stopped.
Danielle said: "Bethany has been left deeply moved and overjoyed by the incredible kindness, generosity, and overwhelming support of the local community. Together, they are raising vital awareness and funds to help her explore life-saving alternative treatment options.
"The response so far has been nothing short of amazing."

Danielle expressed her thanks to Knightly's Fun Park, which hosted a fundraising day with Luke Knightly pledging to match every penny raised.
The Morton Arms in Towyn is also hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, August 29. This is from 2pm.
Holly Taylor, of The Morton Arms, said: "We are organising a fundraising raffle and community fundraising day for Beth, a local girl and friend of ours who is bravely fighting cancer and desperately trying to find further treatment.
"The response from local businesses and the community so far has been absolutely incredible. We have received donations from dozens of local businesses, including beauty treatments, hair vouchers, meals, experiences, holiday accommodation, hampers, vouchers and much more.
"The fundraising raffle will be held at The Morton Arms, Towyn, on Saturday, August 29, with 100 per cent of the money raised going towards Beth’s fundraiser."
Danielle added: "Bethany is thankful to everyone who has donated, organised, and contributed so far.
"The community's kindness is giving Bethany the strength and opportunity to keep fighting."
