Wales Comic Con has been cancelled, just days before it was due to take place in Llangollen.
The event was scheduled for Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30 at Llangollen Pavilion.
Organisers announced the cancellation on Saturday, August 22 and apologised to everyone affected.
In a statement, organisers said: "It is with great sadness that we can confirm that Wales Comic Con, scheduled to take place at Llangollen Pavilion on 29th & 30th August, will no longer be going ahead on those dates.
"This is not an announcement we ever wanted to have to make, and we know it will be incredibly disappointing for everyone who had planned to join us next weekend.
"Most importantly, we're incredibly sorry to everyone affected by today's announcement.
"We know attending an event involves much more than simply buying a ticket, with many of you arranging travel, accommodation, time away from work and other commitments around the weekend."
Fans had been looking forward to appearances from actor Jed Brophy, known for his roles in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, and Kev Bayliss, the video game artist behind Diddy Kong.
Organisers thanked the Llangollen Pavilion team for their 'incredibly welcoming and supportive' attitude, as well as Llangollen Railway for their enthusiasm and proactivity and the Llangollen Tourist Information Centre for their support.
They said: "Llangollen is a beautiful part of North Wales and we're incredibly grateful for the welcome and support we've received locally."
Ticket holders will be contacted directly with information regarding booking options, and refunds are expected to begin processing next week.
Organisers have asked for patience as they work through requests and contact everyone affected.
They said: "Our focus now turns to what comes next for Wales Comic Con, and we'll share further information when we're in a position to do so."
