Train services between Crewe and Wrexham General have been disrupted due to the hot weather forecast and more trains than usual needing repairs at the same time.
The issues, which may result in cancellations in both directions, are expected to persist until the end of the day.
While the exact number of cancellations is not specified, Transport for Wales (TfW) has confirmed that services will be reduced.
Many trains have been undergoing repairs simultaneously, contributing to the disruption.
In response, TfW has advised passengers to use the next available service.
Those travelling from Wrexham General to Crewe are advised to take the next service to Chester, where they can connect to Crewe.
Similarly, passengers from Crewe to Wrexham General should travel to Chester first, then make a connection to Wrexham General.
TfW has confirmed that tickets can be used at no extra cost on Avanti West Coast services between Chester and Crewe in both directions for the rest of the day.
A TfW spokesperson apologised for the disruption, saying: "We apologise for the disruption caused to your journey."
Passengers who experience delays of more than 15 minutes can claim compensation through the 'Delay Repay' scheme.
TfW has warned that services from other operators and on other parts of the network may also be disrupted.
Passengers are advised to check their journey on the TfW website.
Unused tickets can be refunded without a fee.
The disruption comes amid forecasts of hot weather, leading to the reduction of services.
The operator has not specified which specific services will be affected, so passengers are advised to check the TfW live map for up-to-date information.
TfW has also provided a Delay Repay scheme for passengers arriving more than 15 minutes late at their destination.
