A SHOPLIFTER from Kinmel Bay has been banned from entering a Rhyl retail park and a Rhuddlan supermarket after stealing steaks and alcohol.
Steven Coy, 44, of Foryd Road, was issued with a two-year criminal behaviour order (CBO) at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on Monday (June 29).
The order bans him from entering Marina Quay Retail Park in Rhyl and Sainsbury’s in Rhuddlan.
Coy was also jailed for two weeks, which will be added to the 28-week prison sentence he received for other shoplifting offences in May.
He admitted stealing eight bottles of alcohol worth £200, and 12 Aberdeen Angus steaks worth £180, from Sainsbury’s in March, and three bottles of alcohol valued at £52.48 from the B&M store in Marina Quay in May.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “These measures are designed to prevent further offending and protect local businesses and staff who have been repeatedly affected.
“This result is a positive outcome and forms part of a wider North Wales Police operation targeting the most prolific shoplifters.
“Through this work, we are actively seeking CBOs and other restraining orders to disrupt offending and reduce the impact on our communities.
“We remain committed to supporting retailers, tackling repeat offending, and ensuring those responsible are held accountable.”
